Tyler Grange are seeking to recruit a dynamic, commercial and operational team lead for the South West Ecology team. The South West team encompasses the Bristol office and satellite offices in Exeter and Cardiff. The position works collaboratively with the Operational leads for the London, Birmingham and Manchester offices under the leadership of the Regional Ecology Directors for the South and North to deliver the strategy for Ecology. They also work closely with the technical leads for the region and wider business. As such you will have excellent communication and team management skills, an eye for detail and thrive in a dynamic and fun working atmosphere. The role will be based out of our Bristol Office but may require occasional visits to Exeter and Cardiff.
A proven track record within the ecology / planning industry, providing leadership, management and pipeline review as well as a keen interest in sales and business development will be key to success in this role.
Responsibilities will include:
- Working with the Regional Ecology Director (South) to deliver the targets for the South West team as part of the annual Ecology Strategy and overall TG business strategy;
- Support of the South West team in the analysis of operational data including pipeline, opportunities and sales actions for the office;
- Working collaboratively with the Regional Ecology Director (South) in decision making around HR (in liaison with the TG HR lead), recruitment and partner (subcontractor) use;
- Working closely with the central resource coordination team to ensure efficient delivery of workload across the office working area;
- Working with Technical Leads to ensure the technical support is in place for their office and identifying strategies for dealing with skills gaps and specific regional requirements;
- Completion of the monthly Operations report for the South West Ecology team;
- Working collaboratively with the other office operational leads to problem solve and collaborate on delivery of projects and pipeline; and
- Working with the regional sales representatives to ensure sales is driven in the right direction to align with the sales strategy and the specific operational and technical relevance to the South West.
- You will also provide project support as both a Project Manager and Project Director to the team in the South West and the wider Ecology team, helping to mentor and support more junior project managers in large or complex projects.

- Has a commitment to the pursuit of excellence, including a desire to innovate how we deliver for our clients and explore new sectors
- Is a full member of CIEEM, or Chartered Ecologist/working towards Chartership
- Holds a full UK driving license
Salary:
Tyler Grange operates a transparent pay structure with fixed pay points within each grade. Salary for this role will therefore be dependent on experience and suitability for the role/possession of essential and desirable skills. We are seeking to fill this position with an Associate in our A, B or C pay point (which relates to skills and experience demonstrated) and are:
Associate A: £50,040
Associate B; £53,810
Associate C: £57,700
Pay points advertised reflect our 2025 salary banding. All pay points are reevaluated at the beginning of each year to consider inflation and other potential changes, with the next review due in December 2025. Opportunities to move between pay points are available through adequately demonstrating progression of targets and goals at our twice annual reviews held in Spring and Autumn.
