BirdLife Australia is seeking a skilled project coordinator to implement a range of recovery actions for woodland birds. The role will sit within BirdLife Australia’s Woodland Birds Program which uses flagship bird species to engage communities in managing native habitat to reduce critical threats to woodland birds. This is an excellent opportunity to help protect threatened woodland birds and their habitat, while working within a team of highly driven and passionate people at BirdLife Australia.
The role includes responsibility for:
- Managing and delivering externally funded project contracts, including tasks such as landholder liaison, volunteer management, OHS and database curation. Managing and delivering related project contracts, and staff working on these contracts as required.
- Engaging community members in recovery actions for threatened woodland birds, such as the bi-annual Swift Parrot-Regent Honeyeater surveys.
- Building the capacity of our network through providing information and advice, workshops and survey coordination.
- Coordinating and/or assisting at woodland bird project workshops and field days.
- Coordinating and promoting the bi-annual Regent Honeyeater-Swift Parrot volunteer surveys, as well as managing the mainland sightings database.
- Complex data analysis and reporting on project outcomes.
