We want future generations to be able to enjoy seafood and oceans full of life, forever.
The Marine Stewardship Council’s (MSC) vision is for the world’s oceans teeming with life, and seafood supplies safeguarded for this and future generations. An international, non-profit organisation operating the most globally recognised standard for sustainable fishing in use, the MSC has established itself on the world stage: in 25 years, the MSC has achieved a truly global presence, affecting positive, ecological change in oceans and providing certified, sustainable, seafood in more than 100 countries, from fisheries operating around all continents.
Underpinning and integral to the MSC’s work and its ecolabel program are our technology and data platforms and services. The Technology and Data Director performs a critical role within the Corporate Services department, responsible for the development and maintenance of all MSC digital and data systems and services, which are provided both to internal and external users.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role encompasses strategic planning and leadership of MSC’s digital and data transformation, day-to-day service delivery and the evolution of these services, digital and data governance, as well as helping to catalyse the required changes in staff and organisational skills and culture.
In this role, we are seeking an experienced technology and data leader who is comfortable working both strategically and operationally in a fast-paced international environment, managing multiple, often complicated, priorities while delivering excellent results. The ideal candidate will bring experience gained in organisations undergoing digital transformation and leading major change, including the introduction of new platforms and services, and a robust understanding of how to safeguard and to organise data for maximum organisational effect. You will demonstrate a people-centred approach, with a track record of effective relationship building across teams within an organisation of geographically and culturally diverse members. Crucially, you will bring the gravitas and sensitivity to gain credibility and respect of staff at all levels at MSC and be able to demonstrate to others your empathy and interest in the MSC’s mission and objectives.
To apply, please submit a CV and covering letter, detailing how you fulfil the role description and personal specification to https://candidates.perrettlaver.com/vacancies/ quoting reference 5507. The deadline for applications is 9am GMT Monday 17th January 2022.
The location for the role is London, United Kingdom with new ways of flexible working. The salary is commensurate with the seniority and experience required.
