Description

WWT is embarking on an ambitious new ten-year strategy. By 2030 we want to have put wildlife into recovery by creating more space for nature with more people on nature’s side. The Tame Valley Wetlands epitomises this approach.  It is a landscape partnership project led by Warwickshire Wildlife Trust with over 20 partners, including local, regional and national bodies such as the Environment Agency, Natural England, Parish, Borough and County Councils, the RSPB and Staffordshire Wildlife Trust.  Over the last decade it has pioneered the landscape approach to river restoration, delivering a huge range of projects that have invested millions of pounds to support project outcomes across a range of river catchments in west-Warwickshire.  It is central to our ambitions for nature’s recovery in Warwickshire.

Are you the outstanding candidate we’re looking for to continue this pioneering work? Are you excellent a partnership working and project management and wanting a new challenge? The role includes hybrid working with the option of working flexibly from WWT offices and from home with our agile working policy.

We are seeking a Tame Valley Wetlands Manager to:

  • Deliver WWT’s current and future grant funded landscape scale projects within Tame Valley Wetlands (TVW) Nature Improvement Area, through personal contribution or delegation as appropriate.
  • Be the figurehead for the TVW scheme; lead and manage TVW staff, and associated volunteers, including recruitment, work planning, coaching and mentoring.
  • Lead relationships with established partners to ensure the continued success of the Tame Valley Wetlands Partnership.
  • With support from colleagues, manage Hams Hall Environment Centre as the base for Tame Valley Wetlands NIA and as a Warwickshire Wildlife Trust hub in North Warwickshire.

Full time, 35 hours per week. Salary £32,601 - £39,586 based on your skills, knowledge and experience. Balance of office, site & home working where appropriate.

You will liaise with numerous external organisations, groups and individuals to deliver the Landscape Recovery agenda across Tame Valley Wetlands Nature Improvement Area (NIA) through the Tame Valley Wetlands Landscape Partnership, River Blythe SSSI restoration, the River Cole Vision and other developing landscape areas.
