The trust is seeking a confident, practical, and motivated team player to join its livestock team in the management of over 250 cattle and growing sheep flock, on over 600ha of grass farms and 2700ha of conservation sites across the county.

Over the year, the livestock team calves 70+ cows, makes 200 acres of hay, transports livestock across the county delivering them to 35+ conservation sites. 50 animals are sold per year for both beef and breeding stock. The trust has a focus on high herd health and animal welfare.

We maintain a modern, well serviced fleet of vehicles and farm machinery.

If you have livestock experience and fit the criteria on the job profile, lease complete an application form, or provide a CV and covering letter, and send it to tamsin.harris@surreywt.org.uk no later than 30 November 2024. Interviews and practical tests will take place as applications are received so the role may be filled before the closing date (apply now if you are interested and have the livestock experience we need).

The full job profile and application form are available on our website www.surreywildlifetrust.org or by contacting Tamsin Harris, Farms & Livestock Manager.

We are committed to having an inclusive and diverse workplace and encourage applications from backgrounds which may be underrepresented in our sector, including people from minority ethnic backgrounds and people with disabilities.  Please let us know if you require any adjustment to make our recruitment process more accessible.

Surrey Wildlife Trust is one of 46 Wildlife Trusts across the UK, a grassroots movement working to protect and connect at least 30 per cent of land and sea for nature's recovery by 2030. ‘Our vision for a wilder Surrey is a future with abundant wildlife and nature recovery networks rich in biodiversity.’

Pond Farm, our primary base on Wisley Common, is not readily accessible via public transport so the ability to drive and access to a vehicle is essential although suitable SWT work vehicles will be available. It will be necessary for you to be located within a 45-minute drive of either Pond Farm in Wisley (GU23 6QS), Bonhurst Farm in Bramley (GU5 0LA) or Elm Farm in Warlingham (CR6 9PE).
