As our Senior Fundraising Officer (SFO) you’ll play a pivotal role Groundwork’s income generation, funding streams, project development and funder management activities across London and the South of England. This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your skills to a fast-paced, varied role, leading a highly motivated, lively and expanding fundraising team! The main income generation specialisms and targets of this role are charitable trust/foundation grants, statutory grants and formal contract tenders.
As a Senior Fundraising Officer, you’ll play an important part in helping us achieve our aims by securing funding, working towards our three main aims;
- Improving prospects
- Greener living and working
- Creating better places
You will be responsible for identifying and securing funds towards a wide range of social and environmental projects, as well as managing an ongoing portfolio of projects in need of funding, generating income from statutory sources, trusts and foundations. You will be responsible for the development, writing and submission of tenders and major grant applications, and for positioning Groundwork on relevant Frameworks.
With close support from the Fundraising Manager, you will line manage and support the professional development of a small team of fundraising officers, whilst identifying, devising and implementing new systems/processes to improve efficiencies and maximise income in line with the Trust’s Fundraising strategy and annual income targets.
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience in writing high value, >£100k bids and tenders
- Line management experience of either junior staff and/or volunteers
- Confidence in writing creative and compelling proposals for targeted funders
- Excellent relationship building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
- An ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise multiple tasks
- An ability to take the initiative in identifying and proactively developing new Fundraising & Development opportunities
- An interest/ passion for creating greener, more sustainable communities
