Are you excited by the prospect of linking sustainable fishing directly with consumers?
The MSC UK & Ireland team is looking for a Senior Commercial Manager to help drive our Supply Chain work forward in the UK and Irish markets, so that fish and seafood products that are certified as sustainable, are valued and rewarded within the supply chain and ultimately end up on supermarket shelves, or restaurant menus, proudly bearing the MSC ecolabel.
This Senior Commercial Manager post encapsulates many aspects of the MSC’s work and your working week can be highly varied. One day you could be meeting with one of the UK’s biggest retailers discussing tuna sourcing, the next you could be contributing to a working group that’s aiming to evolve our Chain of Custody traceability standards to improve accessibility to our foodservice partners.
One of the key rewards of this role is making that connection between an MSC certified sustainable fishery, and seeing a brand-new certified product hit the UK & Ireland marketplace for the first time. It’s incredible to see this important programme in action.
In this role we’re looking for someone who has a real drive to support and engage across our full breadth of commercial partnerships. We need someone that is keen to get out there (virtually or in person) and meet with our stakeholders, listen to their needs and provide targeted and integrated direction on their areas of focus.
We need an agile and dynamic team player, who is as comfortable working solo on a key account project as they are across a multi-disciplinary team, that’s working on delivering our annual awards event.
We also need someone who understands and appreciates the seafood supply chain, and is inspired by our aim of ensuring those fisheries demonstrating sustainability are rewarded through their products appearing in front of consumers with the coveted blue MSC ecolabel.
Spotting opportunities is crucial in this role, we need you to be connected into all of our data and insights resources, and the complete supply chain from fishery to end user. By keeping aware of all these moving parts, we can establish where there are opportunities to gain progress and make those linkages to further our programme and deliver further MSC products to consumers that are demanding them.
We’re an international organisation and our employees all demonstrate a level of cultural awareness, and value the diverse views and approaches relevant to the MSC program.
The MSC is committed to flexible working. All MSC’s UK employees are currently working remotely, and we would expect to continue to offer flexibility as restrictions are lifted.

Please note: first stage interviews will be held on 1st April 2021.
We look forward to hearing from you!
