The Caring for the Earth Sector comprises philanthropic programmes across clean energy, deforestation, business engagement, and climate participation for a just transition. Through these, Porticus seeks to support a wide range of stakeholders and collaborate with governments, businesses, NGO’s, social enterprises, philanthropists and activists through a truly global network.

Porticus is now seeking an outstanding and inspiring Sector Director to lead the Caring for the Earth (CFE) portfolios. Reporting to the CEO, as part of the Management Team of Porticus, and in close cooperation with the Sector Investment Committee, the Sector Director will play a key role in developing and implementing the vision and strategy that will drive systemic change forward and achieve their vision.

The Sector Director, CFE will bring significant senior leadership experience, ideally gained in environmental, non-profit, philanthropic or social development sectors. S/he will demonstrate the ability to work and lead in a complex, dynamic and multi-stakeholder environment and will bring an extensive network across sectors in the areas of climate and energy. S/he will possess strong communication skills and a collaborative and inspiring leadership style. Most importantly, the Sector Director CFE will demonstrate a deep passion for human dignity and social justice, and genuine alignment with the values of Porticus.

The location of the role is flexible with the opportunity to be based in Amsterdam, Netherlands; Vienna, Austria; Brussels, Belgium; New York, USA; London, UK; Nairobi, Kenya; Hong Kong; Sao Paulo, Brazil. Travel will be required for this position (in compliance with regional Covid-19 guidelines). The salary is competitive and commensurate with the seniority of the appointment.
