Description

Are you passionate about young people and keen to play a pivotal role in our open access service leading on early intervention and prevention to improve the mental wellbeing of children and young people across the London Borough of Southwark?

Groundwork London works with communities across the capital to transform their lives and the places they live. We have been at the forefront of social and environmental regeneration in London for over 25 years, and today we have a simple mission: to create better places, improve people’s prospects, and promote greener living and working. We are passionate about creating a future where every neighbourhood is vibrant and green, every community is strong and able to shape its own destiny, and no-one is held back by their background or circumstance.

The Nest is Groundwork London’s mental wellbeing support service for young people aged 0 – 25 and living in the London Borough of Southwark. Since launching as a remote service in May of 2020, right in the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic, The Nest has gone from strength to strength and in 2021, The Nest established its School Engagement Team.

In less than a year, the School Engagement Team worked in 50+ schools in the borough and spoke with 8000+ students and hundreds of school staff about various topics relating to mental health, from anxiety and low mood to trauma, where to go to get help and self-care.

We are looking for dynamic practitioners to build on the team’s first year successes and join the team as Junior Wellbeing Coaches to deliver mental health support in schools across Southwark.

Please contact us if you have:

  • Experience working with young people and/or in the field of mental health
  • Confidence in planning and delivering workshops and assemblies to large groups
  • Knowledge and understanding of the barriers young people face when accessing support
  • Awareness of working to safeguard young people, including relevant training
