Ryevitalise is a new £3.4 million Landscape Partnership Scheme supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund working to: conserve, enhance and restore the natural and cultural heritage of the River Rye and its tributaries; and encouraging people to reconnect with the history, wildlife and landscapes of the area. We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled graduate with a passion for wildlife, landscapes and people to join the team.
We have an exciting new opportunity for you to put your academic knowledge into practice and develop your career with two years practical work experience joining our Ryevitalise team. You’ll help us develop and deliver conservation agreements to conserve the habitats, wildlife and landscapes of the River Rye catchment.
Reporting to the Ryevitalise Catchment Restoration Officer, you will assist with developing and delivering action for the water, catchment and aquatic ecology aspects included in the Ryevitalise Landscape Partnership scheme.
We’ll want you to be able to tell us about your;
• Knowledge of river processes, resource protection, and/or conservation/habitat and species management • Previous countryside conservation work experience • Excellent organisation skills and self-motivation • Experience writing reports, ideally management plans/programmes of work
Based at our Headquarters in Helmsley, you will be working as part of a fully committed and supportive team. You will also be able to take advantage of our excellent personal development and flexible working opportunities.
If you want to have an informal discussion about this role, please contact James Caldwell, Ryevitalise Catchment Restoration Officer on 01439 772700 or email j.caldwell@northyorkmoors.org.uk
