A great opportunity has arisen to join the Suffolk County Council's Rights of Way team as a Rights of Way Officer, based at Rougham Service Delivery Centre, Rougham Industrial Estate, Bury St Edmunds with hybrid working options including some working from home.

Your role and responsibilities
· proactively developing schemes for maintenance and improvement of the green access network
· deliver a practical works programme in accordance with budgets
· attend site meetings, liaising with contractors and key stakeholders
· carry out site inspections of the network to assess for asset condition, including structures
· you will work closely as one team within the Rights of Way and Access Team.
This role is very varied and will involve working across Suffolk in a wide variety of locations. Typical daily tasks will include developing and implementing an inspection programme, developing works specifications covering design and regulations and delivering works.
You will need:
· very good project management skills
· proven design and delivery of practical work schemes
· a good understanding of health and safety legislation and codes of practice.

· the Rights of Way and Access team looks after the County Council's Green Access network. Green Access includes 5,700km of public rights of way, open access and informal routes. Suffolk County Council's 'Suffolk Green Access Strategy 2020-2030' covers the team's main priorities with the vision 'to get more people using and enjoying Suffolk's green access network.'
