We are currently looking for a Rights of Way Officer to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Countryside part of the team and overseeing delivery of Right of Way and access to the countryside projects and maintenance.
The main duties of the post;
- To deliver the public rights of way service, including rights of way closures, diversions and creations as well as creation of permissive paths.
- Support the public and Local Access Forum
- Prepare the Council’s Rights of Way Improvement Plan.
- Manage the mapping for Permissive Paths and Rights of Way.
- Promote and encourage the use of paths and rights of way.
- Monitor the condition of Rights of Way and advise on remedial measures and maintenance.
- Deal with legal issues concerning rights of way.
- Prepare and present reports, and represent the Authority as Council Expert in appeals, inquires and court proceedings.
- To act as Council Expert in matters relating to Rights of Way and Countryside Access matters.
You will have experience of managing rights of way and countryside access, along with the legal processes and proceedings involved.
Ideally you will have a relevant degree (or equivalent) qualification related to the role.
A valid UK Driving Licence and the ability to use Microsoft Office and GIS are required for this role.
