A unique opportunity to join a successful and growing conservation charity!
Project Development Officer (Buzzing in the East End) Salary £27,000 per annum
The Bumblebee Conservation Trust (the Trust) is seeking a full-time Project Development Officer to deliver our Buzzing in the East End (B.E.E) development year. This is a unique opportunity to work in a growing conservation charity and to develop a new and innovative project spanning the east and southeast of London.
B.E.E. will engage local communities in 11 London Boroughs to take action for rare bumblebees. In this development phase you will prepare all the elements needed for a successful grant bid for the full project. You will identify target areas and potential sites across southeast and east London to manage, restore or create habitat for rare bumblebee species. You will identify, engage and gain support from community groups, landowners, relevant local authorities and other stakeholders and build relationships to carry out this work. You will assist the Conservation Projects Manager (SE England) in developing a full project proposal and funding bids for the next phase. You will keep excellent records and maintain all information in a way that facilitates bid writing and smooth implementation of the next project phase.
Please refer to the job description and person specification for more role details.
This is a full-time, 12 month-fixed term position, working from home with frequent travel across eleven London Boroughs: Barking & Dagenham, Bexley, Greenwich, Bromley, Hackney, Havering, Lewisham, Newham, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest.
The Trust recruits, employs, trains and promotes regardless of race, religion, colour, national origin, gender, disability, age, and other protected status.
At the Trust, we have a clear goal: to be the place where a diverse mix of talented people want to come, to stay and do their best work. We pride ourselves on reaching for our vision – to reverse the decline in bumblebees, through the hard work and dedication of our passionate and creative employees.
