We are seeking an organised, proactive and adaptable individual to join the Centre as a Programme Officer. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide technical leadership of an expanding portfolio of work on public and private decision-making in the marine and coastal environment. This includes our work in support of the Norwegian development cooperation in partner countries.
This role will involve assisting countries with mobilising and using biodiversity data for improved marine and coastal spatial planning and environmental management. It will also work towards strengthening regional and global ocean governance and supporting efforts to transition towards sustainable blue economies. You will have demonstrated knowledge of spatial environmental data and an understanding of its practical application within planning and regulation. The role will have a particular emphasis on marine and coastal environments. A large part of the role will involve capacity development of different stakeholders, relationships management and partnerships building with national, regional and global initiatives. Effective communication skills will therefore be essential.
You will have proven ability to produce high quality outputs, tailored to the intended audience, and to proactively work with partners to assess needs and identify solutions. You will enjoy working as part of a high performing team that links national-level support to regional- and global-level solutions.
