We are seeking an organised, proactive and adaptable individual to join our Business and Biodiversity Programme as Programme Officer. This role will work in close collaboration with other programmes at UNEP-WCMC to implement new and existing projects supporting the integration of natural capital and biodiversity valuation by business and within financial decision making
Our team’s focus is on strengthening natural capital in private sector decision making. We enhance the evidence-base for biodiversity and natural capital’s importance to the private sector through horizon scanning and scenario modelling; threat and opportunity analysis; accounting approaches; and corporate biodiversity and natural capital impact, risk and opportunity assessments.
Working with businesses and their influencers, for example governments and the finance sector, you will develop a growing area of work on natural capital and the economics of biodiversity and ecosystems. You will be a capable project manager, able to work flexibly in response to external developments within the private sector, and have a demonstrated ability to produce high quality outputs for a range of audiences. Furthermore, you will have an understanding of how to deliver credible economic research and analysis to a meet the needs of a range of audiences. You will hold an undergraduate degree in a field related to environmental economics.
