Are you an innovative programme development manager, who can create inspiring programmes benefitting communities across London? We are recruiting for a Programme and Development Manager within our Communities Team, who has strengths in creativity, innovation and project design. Developing projects focused on the key themes including: health, climate change / climate emergency response, behaviour change; sustainability, education and lifelong learning.

Reporting to and supporting the Director of Communities and Environmental Services, this is a senior role which contributes to the development of partnerships, programmes and services for our varied programme of Community work across London.

The Groundwork London Community Team empowers residents, stakeholders and grassroots groups to build their confidence, skill and capabilities to become agents of change. The projects we deliver are wide ranging. We co-create exciting engagement strategies with communities, partners and clients to establish vibrant open spaces that meet the needs of communities. We ensure open spaces are brought to life through a range of activities and volunteering sessions that bring different groups together, build social connections and boost wellbeing. We deliver a wide range of social inclusion projects across London to build social connections, improve wellbeing and health or promote active lifestyles. Our education programme delivers on community gardening, green economy and climate change.

This exciting role requires high level experience in leading and developing community programmes to an exceptional standard. You will develop and sustain relationships with key Groundwork London partners across all sectors; whilst supporting the growth and reach of our Community Programmes. Working closely with Directors, Managers, Fundraisers and Project staff you will enable Groundwork to secure funding and resources, with a particular focus in your designated area.

Please contact us if this sounds like you and you have:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in developing, delivering and managing community, sustainability, behaviour change/education or climate change/climate emergency projects.
  • Track record of designing new projects, including developing fundraising bids and grant applications.
  • Are passionate about using co-production principles to create inclusive engagement strategies with communities, VCS organisations and clients.
  • Partnership and business development skills, working with the private, voluntary and public sectors.
  • Proven team leadership and project management skills at scale.
