Job Purpose Summary
The purpose of this post is to develop globally leading technical advice for peatland restoration. The post will lead and manage tasks that deliver Peatland ACTION Programme requirements for high standards of restoration across Scotland and in particular those delivered by NatureScot.
The post will manage and further develop the Technical Advice Team - providing specialist advice, developing guidance and promoting good practice that underpins successful restoration of peatland habitats. The recipients of the advice are within the range of activities in NatureScot and other Peatland ACTION delivery bodies.
The post is part of the Programme Management Group and will also lead on aspects of governance and project management in the evolving/expanding Peatland ACTION Programme and the associated Scottish Government Peatland Delivery Plan.
The post covers the whole of Scotland and will require the ability to travel independently, as public transport is not always available and site are remote. On occasions, this will require travel that necessitates nights away from home.
