February - October 2020
Do you love the outdoors and want to shout about it??
Do you want to turn your environmental degree theory into practical activity?
We are looking to take on a full time intern to train in the delivery of both formal and informal outdoor education sessions. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with a passion for the outdoors, the natural world and an interest in working with children of all ages.
Ideally the successful applicants will hold a degree in the earth sciences, countryside management or education and hold a first aid certificate. You will be keen to develop skills in environmental education. You will need your own transport, as Nower Wood is not accessible by public transport, and you will be expected to do some weekend working but the posts offer flexibility to meet our needs and yours. The national living wage will be payable to assist the candidate. The post (5 days a week) is for 8 months starting late February/early March until the end of October 2020.
The Outdoor Learning team aims to increase the understanding and appreciation of our natural history in Surrey through engagement with the local community. This involves the delivery of curriculum based and informal education sessions to all ages as well as open days, holiday clubs, family events and working with volunteers.
To apply for this exciting opportunity, please send a completed application form, available on our website, to Louise Shorthose, Outdoor Learning Manager, Nower Wood, Mill Way, Leatherhead, KT228QA or email to louise.shorthose@surreywt.org.uk by 11/2/2020. Interviews will be held during the week commencing 17/2/2019 with a view to starting on or before 2 March 2020.
