Job description

This post is embedded in the Forestry and Land Scotland Planning & Environment team, providing strategic direction, support and guidance to the five forest regions across Scotland in delivering agreed corporate targets, maintaining UKWAS (UK Woodland Assurance Standard) certification and contributing to smooth and efficient running of the business.

This role will primarily deliver training through a variety of means such as Microsoft Teams, classroom lessons, 1-1 sessions and the creation of learning plans. The role will also include delivery of technical support to GIS users, assisting in the roll out of GIS systems/tools, data model development, managing distributed datasets and to provide data analysis to Forest Regions and other specialists functions across Scotland.

Main Duties

  • Lead in training to small groups of GIS and non-GIS users in the use of Esri developed

         applications such as ArcPro, Field Maps and web-based systems.

  • Provide cover for the Logger support desk which provides GIS guidance, advice, user

         permissions support and investigation of technical issues.

  • Deliver a data analysis service for different parts of the organization.
  • Provide support for the organisation in managing data & developing data models.
