We are seeking a GIS Officer to join Groundwork London’s award-winning Geospatial and Data Services (GDS) Team, delivering exciting and challenging geospatial projects across London and the UK.
Groundwork London is a social and environmental regeneration charity, delivering over 500 projects each year aimed at: supporting people to gain skills and secure employment; reducing our environmental impact through energy, water efficiency and behaviour change; and engaging communities and enterprise in improving their environment.
As GIS Officer you will play a central role in GDS team and will lead the design, development and management of spatial databases and applications; support spatial data analysis; manage and deliver a variety of projects, from neighbourhood and community mapping to developing and supporting contract management systems and databases.
You will be a motivated and innovative individual who is proficient in managing data from diverse sources and is able to work with people from a range of disciplines. Familiarity in using geospatial software (ESRI/ QGIS) and creating data visualisations is essential. You will be experienced in Microsoft Office (Excel/Access), with knowledge and understanding of any relational databases (Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and any scripting languages (Python, R, JavaScript) would be an added advantage. Exposure to any CRM applications (Zoho Creator / Salesforce) will be a bonus. Aptitude and understanding data and its usage is important for this role. In addition to your technical skills, you will be an excellent project manager and communicator, will be able to develop strong relationships with your colleagues and clients, and support a professional team and service culture.
