If so, you could be the perfect fit for the Marine Stewardship Council!
This is an exciting role that contributes to the adoption and implementation of the MSC’s Fisheries Standard as a framework for fisheries improvement, with the specific aim of increasing accessibility to the MSC Fisheries Certification Program.
As part of the role, you will be responsible for the:
- development of the MSC’s Capacity Building Program, including training content;
- development of pathway tools, guidance, and communications materials, and
- management of a portfolio of fisheries in the program and oversight of their assessment.
To be successful in this role, you will be a highly motivated individual with a background in a sustainability or environmental discipline, or in a subject with relevance to fisheries or natural resource management.
You will also have:
- a good knowledge of wild capture fisheries, including fisheries improvement projects (FIPs), and ideally experience with fishery management challenges in the Global South;
- knowledge of the practical delivery of technical training or capacity building activities, preferably in a developing world context and using online training platforms or learning management systems;
- a strong teamwork ethic and excellent project planning, organisation and time management skills.
