Reporting to the Board (Trustees) of Horsell Common Preservation Society, the Estate Manager will be responsible for the active land management of Horsell Common and for the commercial activities based at Heather Farm.
Horsell Common covers approximately 1,000 acres and is visited by over 200,000 people each year. The buildings at Heather Farm accommodate the highly successful Heather Farm Café, facilities for The Lightbox (a local charity), a gym and HCPS offices.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual to take full responsibility for this area of heathland, wetland, meadows and woodland together with the requirement to utilise enterprise skills managing the commercial aspects of the Heather Farm site. As Land Manager and Landlord, the skills needed are a strong background in habitat management, a passion for nature and biodiversity, some commercial acumen coupled with project and budget management skills, and the desire to engage the local community in the ongoing preservation of the common.
