Employment Adviser (YES) – JETS Contract x 2

Location: GW London Offices/remote working arrangements

Contract: Fixed term – up to 12 months 

Salary: Circa £24,500

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Groundwork London is a leading social and environmental regeneration charity.  We deliver over 500 projects each year aimed at supporting people to stay in education, gain new skills and secure employment; reducing our environmental impact through energy efficiency, waste minimisation, reuse and recycling; and engaging communities and enterprises in improving their environment 

We are seeking 2 x Employment Advisers to work as part of the JETS team mainly home-based initially, providing quality information, advice & guidance to clients seeking employment. You will support clients that have been unemployed for between 3 to 12 months. Your role will include completing an initial assessment with clients, devising SMART action plans to support progression; job brokerage, maintaining compliant records of interventions.  

You will have excellent interpersonal skills, good attention to detail, client-focused and the ability to understand and follow compliance process requirements. In addition, you will need to be target driven with the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a busy team and have excellent organisational and administration skills in order to cope with competing demands and tight deadlines. 

 A qualification in Advice & Guidance would be advantageous.

Location: South London boroughs and one Lambeth based

Contract: Fixed Term 12 months initially

Are you passionate about working with young people and being part of their journey to employment and training using your IAG skills? Then this role may be for you.

We are seeking customer-focused and target-driven Employment Advisors to assist and motivate Young People aged 16 – 24 to overcome barriers to employment and assist them into sustainable employment or training opportunities through two of our ESFA-funded NEETS (not in employment, education, or training) projects: Our Green Futures (Lambeth) and Head 2Work (South London).

You must hold IAG level 3 or above and have experience in delivering a structured IAG programme and supporting the delivery of training to young people.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Groundwork London Greater London Authority (GLA) or Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) funded projects for the New Year. You will be supporting young Londoners through Social Action Projects to achieve their full potential. Young Londoners will benefit from IAG 121 and group support and strive for success.  Our Employment Advisors offer mentoring and holistic support to our clients along with achieving new skills and qualifications via our City and Guilds Curriculum delivered by our Tutors.

Your responsibilities will include employer engagement and outreach work to identify eligible and suitable participants to access employment and training opportunities. You will be working with individuals with barriers to work including: care leavers; young carers; young people involved in criminal activity. You will be undertaking assessments, designing and monitoring individual action plans, and delivering support including CV writing, interview skills, applications and job-search techniques to prepare them to progress into sustainable employment.
