The post-holder should have a proven track record in project development, particularly in developing countries and relevant experience and/or a higher degree in an appropriate subject such as conservation biology, conservation/development policy, science communication, anthropology or a related discipline. Candidates should also have:
- A good understanding of global biodiversity conservation issues.
- Prior experience in supporting conservation or development projects.
- Have prior experience organising travel and organisation of events/training courses.
- Have prior supporting funding applications and monitoring budgets.
- Very high standard of written English and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational, time keeping, interpersonal and communication skills, both face to face and in writing.
- Proven grant-writing and report-writing ability.
- Proven effective communication skills.
- Well-developed skills in using MS office packages, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- An ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proven ability to work effectively within teams.
Please Note: This is a full-time, 1 year fixed-term contract position which will be based at ZSL’s offices in London, Regents Park. Having a "can do attitude", solution-focused approach and the ability to make objective decisions under pressure will make you a success in this role.
