Description  

UNEP-WCMC are looking for a new Deputy Head of Programme for the Conserving Land and Seascapes team.  An experienced leader and role model, the successful candidate will be able to inspire the confidence of staff, and play a critical backstopping role to the Head of Programme (HoP), including deputising at meetings and events as needed.  They will have an exceptional track record of project development and delivery, with experience of managing a high performing team of experts. The successful candidate will have experience of maintaining a network of partners, and demonstrated success in the development of high quality proposals for a range of clients and funding sources.

The post holder will need to be flexible and adaptable to variable demands, including international travel.  They will be a member of the Centre’s Leadership team, ensuring cross-programmatic alignment and delivery of the centre strategy. They will be a problem-solver, able to address challenges as they arise and find creative solutions to them. It is anticipated that the post holder will maintain their specialist expertise, leading and contributing to projects as needed.
