We are seeking an enthusiastic Communications Specialist to contribute to our work at the cutting edge of biodiversity management. The position would suit a professional from either a communications background with an interest and experience in the environment/ecology OR an ecologist with an interest and experience in communications. It’s a new role for The Biodiversity Consultancy and an exciting time to join our team.

It’s an opportunity to help shape B2B communications within a fast-moving global environmental agenda and to continue to position the consultancy at the forefront of business and biodiversity. Your core tasks will be producing content for our communications channels, supporting the implementation of a communications plan for 2020-22 and responsibility for internal communications. The position is within our Business Support team and will involve close liaison with the Managing Director, Technical Directors and the Chief Executive Officer.

If you are looking for a dynamic, creative position in the business of nature and you are motivated by communicating technical material to specialists and non-specialists alike then this position could be for you.

About The Biodiversity Consultancy (TBC)

We are an environmental consultancy based in central Cambridge (UK) specialising in integrating nature into business decision-making through a focus on biodiversity management and policy. We provide advice to the private, public and NGO / science sectors. We are a small (and growing) team (about 25 people) but we count among our clients some of the world’s biggest multinational companies, as well as governments and respected environmental charities. We achieve this through staying ahead of the curve, delivering robust, pragmatic solutions and always adhering to the highest levels of professional standards.

As an environmental consultancy committed to sustainability, we are passionate about staying true to our values. We take steps to minimise our own impact on the environment – such as offsetting our carbon footprint, only using renewable energy and carefully reviewing all purchases. TBC also donates 12.5% of profits to environmental charities and projects, chosen by staff.

Our current communications activities include social media channels, TBC’s website, mailings and briefing notes – and we want to do a lot more.

About you: You are a creative individual, keen to focus your skills and energy on both the natural world and communications within a corporate setting. You write comfortably and persuasively, for a wide variety of audiences and channels and have a good eye for presentation.
