Blackpool Council has adopted a target of delivering net-zero carbon emissions across the organisation and its companies by 2030, and supporting other agencies in delivering similar across the town.
Working as part of an experienced and supportive corporate team, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and delivering projects in line with the Council's carbon reduction roadmap and Climate Assembly recommendations;
- Driving the work of the Council's Climate Emergency Steering Group, changing our approach to be more sensitive to climate issues;
- Helping to establish the Blackpool Climate Action Partnership, building relationships with public, private and voluntary sector organisations to achieve our goal;
- Developing and submitting funding bids
You'll need to have a thorough understanding of climate and sustainability issues, and the skills and drive to develop effective working relationships.
