Description  

Applications are invited for the post of Biodiversity Officer, within the Countryside and Wildlife Team of Neath Port Talbot Council. The main purpose of the post is to support the team in delivering biodiversity initiatives and providing ecological advice. This can include advising other service areas and the public, using GIS, carrying out ecological surveys, advising on planning applications, awareness raising and delivering grant funded projects. We are currently delivering a number of projects under the Local Places for Nature funding in NPT and RCT.

This is a great opportunity to get into the conservation sector.

The Countryside and Wildlife Team is a multi-disciplinary team, dealing with countryside access, biodiversity conservation and project delivery and provision of ecological advice.

A degree or equivalent in a relevant subject is required.

Welsh language skills are desirable.
