We are seeking a dynamic, analytical and adaptable individual to join our Business and Biodiversity Programme as Associate Programme Officer. This role will work in close collaboration with other programmes at UNEP-WCMC to implement new and existing projects supporting improved biodiversity management by business

Our team’s focus is on strengthening natural capital in private sector decision making. We enhance the evidence-base for biodiversity and natural capital’s importance to the private sector through horizon scanning and scenario modelling; threat and opportunity analysis; accounting approaches; and corporate biodiversity and natural capital impact, risk and opportunity assessments.

Working with businesses and their influencers, for example governments and the finance sector, you will support the development of tools, standards, methodologies and metrics, and technical advice for the private sector to integrate biodiversity and natural capital into business models and decision making.

You will have a demonstrated ability to produce high quality outputs for a range of audiences. Furthermore, you will have an understanding of how to deliver robust scientific research and analysis to a meet the needs of a range of audiences. You will hold an undergraduate degree in a field related to biodiversity, environmental sustainability or environmental economics.

We will provide you with the challenge of working on high impact projects, where your work really makes a difference to the field of conservation by helping address the impacts and dependencies of businesses on biodiversity and natural capital.
