Due a large contract win, with work centred around the midlands we are actively seeking a Senior Ecologist. You will join our close-knit ecology team to help us deliver innovative ecological surveys across the Midlands (and North-West). You'll be working with our experienced team on all aspects of the consultancy process (from supporting with tender preparation, rigorous fieldwork, to high quality scientific reporting and sign-off).
This is a collaborative role that will involve you working with an experienced team across our land division and also colleagues in aquatic science who deliver a wide variety of projects across the UK for environment and conservation agencies, water industries, energy industries and many more.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- Experience conducting Phase 1 Habitat and / or UK Habitats Classification surveys.
- Experience of writing Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and / or protected species survey reports.
- Knowledge of protected species surveys (e.g. dormice, bats, GCN, otter, water vole, birds etc.).
- Up to date overview of EU and UK legislation pertaining to ecology and environmental issues, as well as Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA), Ecological Impact Assessments and planning regulations;
- A full UK driving licence.
