DUTCH speaking marine biologist
Overview
Explore Cape Verde is a nature excursions company based on the Cape Verdean Island of Sal. We supply eco-tours to TUI, Thomas Cook, other tour operators and also private guests. We require all our guides to be suitably educated (conservation experience, biology degree, marine biology degree or similar) and environmentally aware. Currently we have four marine biologists on the team.
What we do
Our main excursions are trips to see the lemon sharks all year round and during the turtle nesting season (June to Oct) we take tourists to observe the nesting process.
Other excursions that you will be expected to lead when required are birdwatching, snorkelling, seadoo safari, island tour, cycling and stargazing. Full training is provided for all the excursions we offer to the guests.
The reason we require marine biologists is to provide expert knowledge on the excursions to raise awareness of the marine life, the animals that live there and also the threats they face from pollution and development.
Contract
An employment contract will be given and tax and insurance is deducted monthly in accordance with local employment and taxation regulations.
Salary: 75000cve per month
Six days per week
Accommodation will not be provided but we will help you find something suitable and affordable. Some of our staff share and this is an option that can reduce your costs.
