APEM Limited is Europe’s largest specialist aquatic science consultancy, offering our clients an integrated approach to every aspect of the scientific study, investigation and management of both freshwater and marine habitats.  With over 25 years’ experience we operate UK wide as well as internationally, and our scientists are recognised experts in their fields.

APEM BioLabs is synonymous with high-quality analysis, large capacity and fast-turnaround.  Clients either send us their samples directly or they are collected by APEM as part of a wider project.  The specification of analyses provided is tailored to the needs of the project, with flexibility being one of our strongest qualities. APEM is a champion in fostering the specialist taxonomic skills that are in increasingly short supply and is committed to providing rewarding careers and long-term professional development for aquatic taxonomists.

If you are a high-calibre and motivated aquatic scientist with specialist knowledge in Freshwater Macroinvertebrate Taxonomy, then this is a great opportunity for you.

You will have excellent taxonomic skills and have previous experience of working under an Analytic Quality Control (AQC) system.

Working from one of our laboratories in Stockport, Edinburgh or Letchworth, you will process freshwater samples and identify macroinvertenrates, working to APEM’s quality standards and turnaround times. As a Senior Laboratory Scientist you will also be involved in quality assurance and auditing, managing laboratory projects, writing technical reports and training/mentoring staff.
