Description

Work with Pioneers. Take part in the Raptor Nest Inventory in Polish Carpathian Primeval Forest in Summer 2017. Become our Volunteer Field Researcher and work in a WWF Priority Area, one of the wildest places in Europe. Help us to collect valuable data and establish a new national park in Poland.

What will I do? You will attend a comprehensive training on raptor identification in the field. You don't have to be a bird expert – the training is made for amateurs as well as professionals. We will observe and record lesser spotted eagles returning to the nest with prey. You will mark bird's flight direction on the map. If records of neighbouring observers are compatible, the nest location will be assessed using triangulation.

Where will I stay? In a truly wild, unique place. The base is located in a small village – Nowosiolki Dydynskie. The nearest bigger city – Przemysl – is 25 km away. The Ukrainian border is a few kilometers away. We will stay in the Natural Heritage Fund center. This is a metal building with 7 rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a common room. You will be surrounded by stunning nature and forests, on the foothills of the wildest mountains in Poland.

Who are you looking for? It's an exciting international experience for Birdwatchers and Nature Lovers, but we welcome persons from all walks of life. You don't have to know birds well. The tasks will be tailored to your individual needs and high-quality field training is provided.

What's in it for me? We offer HANDS-ON intensive exchange of specialist knowledge and HANDS-ON experience in field research abroad accompanied by our high-quality training in bird species identification and data registration. All of this confirmed by our unique Certificate of Participation to boost your CV. We offer deep contact with pristine Wilderness. You will meet inspiring, like-minded people and gain unforgettable memories!

To apply: send an email to Joanna at joanna.azc@gmail.com and introduce yourself in few words, explaining why you are interested in the Project and why we should choose YOU as a Participant. You will receive a detailed Infosheet and the Application Form.
